Connect Point Counselling and Consulting

Welcome to Connection Point Counselling Services, a virtual santuary committed to creating an inclusive and comfortable environment for collaboration, capacity building, and community development. Responding to the changing times of COVID-19, we have embraced digital spaces, enabling us to connect with clients across various regions. As we adapt to this new era, our physical presence in Calgary has transitioned into a virtual-based service, allowing us to extend our reach and offer support to individuals in British Columbia, Alberta, and Ontario.

Through our flexible virtual counseling, we now have the privilege of engaging intimately with clients in the comfort of their homes or on their walks, connecting in ways we could not have previously imagined. Our approach remains client-centered, providing dedicated support.

As we grow and evolve, we are excited to announce our upcoming expansion to offer workshops not only for professionals but also for anyone seeking personal development. Launching in early 2024. These workshops will further promote learning, sharing, healing, and growth.

"Take care of yourself first, so you are powerful when you give."

About

Johnathan Kuipers

Clinical Social Worker,  Therapist

MSW

RCSW

As a compassionate and experienced therapist, my mission is to guide individuals, couples, and families through challenging situations, nurturing sustainable growth. With therapeutic techniques encompassing art, music, mindfulness, and traditional talk therapy, I tailor my approach to cater to adults, teenagers, and children. Emphasizing strengths and a client-centered approach, I empower individuals while respecting the uniqueness of each journey, fostering a supportive environment for embracing life to the fullest.

My services adhere to the ethical guidelines of the Alberta College of Social Workers (ACSW) and the Canadian Counselling and Psychotherapy Association (CCPA). As a Registered Clinical Social Worker (RCSW) with ACSW, and a member of CCPA and WPATH, I stay current through specialized training and workshops.

In addition to therapeutic counselling, I work with individuals and groups on diversity and inclusion topics, offering opportunities for professional development and education through group and individual consulting.

Amidst the challenges of the COVID-19 era, I redefined Connection Point and embraced a fully nomadic lifestyle, continuing to do so to this day. My mobile home serves as a safe and confidential space for virtual client sessions, using technology to ensure privacy and comfort.

As I travel and engage with diverse cultures, I am deeply committed to learning, respecting, and honouring the customs and traditions of the Indigenous communities whose lands I visit. With humility and an open mind, I approach each place with a profound recognition of Indigenous histories and contributions, dedicated to promoting respect, understanding, and awareness of Indigenous rights and cultures throughout my nomadic journey.
